Do you have a special place or room that you like to write in? Maybe somewhere that helps inspire your ideas and work flow? Maybe there’s a special cup of coffee or tea you like to have at your side, and maybe you prefer the soft sounds of Classical music.
We all have our preferred method, what works best for us.
For me, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I prefer solitude and just my pen and paper, with Classical music on at a low volume. This may be my favorite way. Sometimes, though, I’d rather sit at my computer and let my fingers do all the work, with no sounds but me pecking at my keys.
I’m still working on creating my office space at home. Right now, I just have an old table. Soon, I’ll have my desk set up in a corner of the living room. I’m really looking forward to decorating my space with pictures and quotes of inspiration. I’ll have a window view of our front yard, where random animals often end up. (I live in the country.)
Another one of my moods will take me to the local library or Starbucks. Being around people can help with creativity. I like to people watch and will sometimes find a story idea while doing so.
As you can see, there are a lot of options. No right or wrong. I would love to hear what works for you. Share your perfect writing space in the comments section below. Let’s get to know each other!
