Today, I’m sharing my favorite resources as a writer. I know there are a ton of sites and programs out there, so please keep in mind that I’m a little limited since I’m just now *officially* starting out.
What are your favorite resources? I’d love to hear about them! Feel free to share them in the comments section.
Canva – This is an amazing website for designing just about anything and everything. I’ve created book covers, blog graphics, social media posts, website headers, flyers, and so on. You can start with a blank canvas or use one of their layouts to get started. I only use the free options, and have more than enough to work with, but they do have more options you can pay for.
Library – There isn’t much better than visiting your local library. Whether it’s for research on locations or history, or perhaps you’re just searching for some inspiration… The library is a great resource.
Pinterest – Who doesn’t love Pinterest?!? Inspirational quotes, writing prompts, writing how-tos, publishing how-tos. You name it, and you can probably find it on Pinterest.
Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram) – Social media is perfect for networking and connecting with like-minded people. You can get feedback on your story ideas or book covers. You can ask questions about writing in general and usually get some helpful input. I absolutely love meeting new people (even if virtual) and in this line of work, the more people you know, the better. I like bouncing off ideas with other people. Most importantly, though, you’ll often find encouragement from people.
Dictionary/Thesaurus – You can’t really find a better tool than either one of these items. I like to switch things up in my vocabulary, but sometimes need some guidance. I’m thankful a quick Google search can assist in my time of need.
That’s all I have for now. Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m always grateful for the likes, shares, and comments.
Until next time……………………… Happy Writing!
